Compassion Day Activity July 6 2014

Celebrate Compassion Day, July 6th, 2014

July 6th is His Holiness The Dalai Lama’s 79th birthday, which is celebrated as Compassion Day. This year we’re celebrating Compassion Day by creating a collage that explores compassion. Please copy by hand a short Dharma passage that nurtures the compassion in you – it could be a favorite passage from a sutra, a verse from a prayer, a mantra, or even an original piece of writing, art work, a photo, or a song. Children are encouraged to participate as well! This should be a fun, easy activity — even a sticky note with Om Mane Padme Hum written on it would be terrific.

Format: paper size can be either 6 in x 6 in, 4 x 4 in, or 2 x 2 in. plain or colored paper

Submittal date: original works can be dropped off at the Center anytime during classes until July 20, or mailed to:
Guhyasamaja Center, 10875 Main Street, Unit 108, Fairfax, VA 22030

Final product: Ven. Tendrol will create a collage using all the submittals for display at the Center. Please note that original art work can not be returned.

May all sentient beings be free from suffering.

We dedicate the merit from our efforts to the long life and well-being of His Holiness the Dalai Lama Tenzin Gyatso.
