Over the past couple of weeks, I have added photos and recordings of the Gaden Jangtse monks’ visit  to the original webpage: http://guhyasamaja.org/GadenDC.htm. It’s now finished!

Montie Martin, a reporter for the Arlington Connection Newspaper, attended the Gaden Monks prayer event at the Unitarian Church, Arlington on April 9th. About 80 people came that evening. He wrote an article that was published on April 13:

I hope that the photos and the sound of the monks’ chanting will inspire your Dharma practice.

If you came to any of these special events with the Gaden Jangtse monks, please share your thoughts about your experience.

We are fortunate that there are many websites with recordings by Dharma masters. Some are well-known such as His Holiness’s website, LamRim.com, or recordings on the Lama Yeshe Wisdom Archive site

Here are a few that you might not have come across that are hidden treasures:

  • archive.org — wide variety of teachings by Western and Tibetan FPMT teachers. Use key words “FPMT”, “Tibetan Buddhism”, “Discovering Buddhism”.
  • Gyumed Khensur Rinpoche Losang Jampa’s website — teachings given at his Center, Do Ngak Khun Phen Ling with links to teachings at the Mahayana Sutra Tantra Center and Guhyasamaja Center.
  • Audio Guroo — suggested by my New Yorker friend Louise, this site has a small collection of teachings representing all four schools of Tibetan Buddhism. Includes teachings by His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
  • Library of Tibetan Works and Archives — detailed teaching given by Geshe Sonam Rinchen on “Mind and Mental Factors”, translated by Ruth Sonam. Highly recommended.
  • Library of Tibetan Works and Archives, more recordings — 2010 and 2009 classes by several teachers including Geshe Sonam Rinchen.
  • Please feel free to share your comments as well as your favorite websites.

Leisure and endowment are very hard to find;
And, since they accomplish what is meaningful for man,
If I do not take advantage of them now,
How will such a perfect opportunity come about again?

Just as a flash of lightning on a dark, cloudy night
For an instant brightly illuminates all,
Likewise in this world, through the might of Buddha,
A wholesome thought rarely and briefly appears.

~ Shantideva A Guide to the Bodhisattva’s Way of Live. Library of Tibetan Works and Archives. 1981.
