Celebration of Tibetan Culture in Reston, Virginia

On Saturday, October 11, 2008 there will be a celebration of Tibetan Culture held at the The Unitarian/Universalist Church, 1625 Wiehle Ave., Reston VA 20190.

This celebration will begin from 3:00 to 5:00 PM with a Long-Life Blessing of White Tara (the female Buddha of Compassion) by Gyumed Khensur Rinpoche.  Khensur Rinpoche is the former abbot of Gyumed Tantric Monastic University India and also a senior teacher at Sera Monastic University in India.

This will be followed by a number of performances of traditional Tibetan songs and dances by a number of excellent Tibetan performers.

There will also be a dinner of traditional Tibetan foods as well as Vietnamese foods from 6:30 to 8:30 PM.  Tibetan Cultural performances will also be presented during the dinner as will a brief talk by Khensur Rinpoche.

There will also be silent auction during and immediately following the dinner.

Cost: $20 for the dinner, with performances included.

(This donation will go to the Guhyasamaja Center’s building fund as will funds raised by the auction.  Additional donations will also be accepted with gifts provided to donors.)
