Sangha Housing: Kalachakra 2011

As you might already be aware, the Guhyasamaja Center does not have its own building, so unfortunately, we can not house visitors. Due to the fact that we’re the local FPMT Center in the D.C. area, we have received numerous requests from sangha and others who need housing during the July Kalachakra with His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

In order to make it easier for local residents to offer housing and for sangha visitors to find housing, we have created a discussion board on our Facebook site. It works like Craig’s list, or any forum, and the service is primarily for monks and nuns.

We hope that our local community will take advantage of this great opportunity to make new friends by offering service to the monks and nuns who truly devote their lives to the Dharma.

For more information about lodging in D.C., please visit the Kalachakra website.

  1. To whom it may concern, i’m a fully ordained monk in great need for the 13 day stay during the KALACHAKRA event. I have already purchased the full price of the 11 day tickets, however i am finding myself struggling w finding dorms + other housing accommadations during my stay in DC for my limited budget. I would greatly appreciate any help with + regarding this matter. Thank you for your cooperatio. Sincerely yours, Tenzin Gyeltsen

    • Hi Ven Gyeltsen, the only resources that I’m aware of are the Sangha Housing mentioned in this blog post and the Guhyasamaja Center’s discussion board on facebook. Please feel free to add an entry to the facebook discussion page.

My impression is that sangha can register for free for Kalachakra (although I think there was a 500 sangha capacity for that offer, and maybe that’s already been exceeded).

Glad you’ll be coming! Best wishes, Tendrol
