Who is Buddha? for elementary school kids: 6-11-2011

Saturday, June 11
Unitarian Universalist Church, 1625 Wiehle Ave., Reston VA 20190, downstairs
2:00 – 6:00 pm

The Center has an ongoing Youth Dharma class for kids 10+. We have a group of about six kids who meet once a month. Teens meet separately. We have received many requests from parents of kids who are less than 10 wishing to join us. While we are unable to offer another class for younger kids on a regular basis, we are happy to offer a special half-day class this spring just for kids ages 6 – 12.

Elementary school kids are invited to join us for an introduction to Buddhist values in a fun, creative way. Activities will include stories, art projects, how to liberate bugs, how to offer food, and other practices. Kids will explore questions such as who is Buddha, and what does a Buddha do? We’ll conclude with a potluck dinner together over a campfire and maybe even a fire puja at nearby Lake Fairfax park.

Open to all who are interested, please bring a friend.
