Khensur Rinpoche is much better than he was a few weeks ago. During class this weekend he was well-rested and had more energy. His doctor and students have, however, encouraged him to rest for a few more weeks, so he left Virginia tonight to return to his Center in Connecticut. This is a good decision because he has a very busy summer ahead of him including attending the Kalachakra, a Kalachakra Six Session Guru Yoga retreat at Namgyel Monastery in upstate NY in July, and a Guhyasamaja teaching in NYC in August, plus more.
Here are the schedule changes (source: email from Lorne Ladner, Center Director):
Class next Saturday, May 20, is cancelled.
The four day retreat, from May 27-30, is on. However, the schedule will be adjusted to 1:30 – 5:00 PM each day for those four days. Also the topic will be changed. The topic will be a continuation of the teachings in the series we’ve entitled “Stairway to Bliss” on Lam Rim. On the first day of the retreat, Friday, we will do tsog (not the full Guru Puja but just the tsog verses) with Rinpoche at the end of teachings that day. So, for day people can bring along offerings for the tsog if they like. Also, some time during the four day weekend, Rinpoche will formally offer Refuge for those who’ve requested the chance to take refuge from Rinpoche. (Please let folks who we know want to take refuge know that their chance for this visit will be some time on Sunday or Monday during the teachings).
Then we will have a final Lam Rim class for this visit on Saturday, June 4th, as scheduled.
All the further teachings in June and early July with Rinpoche are cancelled.
Please say prayers for Khensur Rinpoche and, most importantly, put into practice all the teachings that he has worked so hard to share with us.
Please do not to plan on visiting or contacting Rinpoche over the next few weeks, let him rest. Thanks!
