A Buddhist Halloween for Children (and their parents)
Come learn about Spirits and things that go bump in the night…do a little trick o’ treating!.
We are very happy to announce that the beloved Khensur Rinpoche Lobsang Jamyang of Sera Mey Monastery will come to the Drikung Dharma Surya Center to confer a blessing and teaching for children on October 30th, 2015. Since this event will fall during the Halloween season, the children will get to learn about scary stuff such as ghosts and spirits from the Buddhist perspective. The goal is to help children overcome their fear of ghosts with compassion and generosity.
Please come dressed in your best Halloween costumes and be blessed in the presence of one of the most charismatic, compassionate, and fun-loving Rinpoches of the Gelugpa tradition.
In his younger years, Rinpoche studied hard and worked hard to rebuild Sera Mey monastery and the Tibetan community in exile. Today, at the age of 82, Rinpoche still works hard to rally support for the Sera Mey Food Fund project and the Save The Children of Tibet project. A true Bodhisattva at heart, Rinpoche leads an exemplary life of doing everything with fullest rigor and whole-heartedness.
Please join us with your children to welcome Rinpoche on his first visit to DDSC and make Halloween 2015 truly memorable.
